A Deep Dive Into Identity and What Shapes It

Let’s skip the mirror pep talk: identity isn’t your Instagram bio.

It is not your job title or your zodiac sign. Identity is a shapeshifter. A performance. A truth. A question. A mess. A mirror. It’s who you think you are, who the world thinks you are, and who you’re quietly becoming in the moments no one sees.

So, what questions are you asking yourself about who you are right now? If you don’t have all the answers, that’s not a problem. In fact, that’s the point.

Identity is What Makes You, You.

It is the qualities, beliefs, personality traits, appearance, and expressions you embody. It’s how you define yourself and how others come to recognize you.

But identity goes deeper than personality types or the boxes you check on forms. It’s the answer behind the pause when someone asks, “So, tell me about yourself?” and you realize… you’re not quite sure anymore.

It’s not just what you do or like. It’s who you are when no one’s clapping.

Here’s a little secret: Personality is how you tend to show up. Performance is how you choose to show up. Identity is what remains when you stop performing.

Sometimes, you choose your identity. Other times, it’s shaped by people and experiences you never asked for.
